AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) is a striker. She is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division in professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she co-captained the American women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. [8][99 Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the club and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada. She was the second player in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, making her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player to score 20 goals in a single year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
